A Study of the Individualized Prediction of Migraine Attacks Using a Mobile Phone App and Fitbit Data

About this study

The purpose of this study is to investigate the accuracy of predicting migraine attacks in individual patients using a mobile phone app and a Fitbit to collect daily headache diary data, exposure/trigger data and physiologic data. It is believed the data will predict the occurrence of migraine attacks with high accuracy via the mobile phone app.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

Fulfills ICHD-3beta criteria for migraine with an average of 5 - 10 migraine attacks per month and up to 12 headache days per month
Males or females
18 years of age or older
Report of weather being one of the triggers
Has an iPhone
Willing to wear a Fitbit device for the duration of the study
Has an active Facebook account or is willing to create one

Exclusion Criteria

Younger than 18 years of age
Headaches other than migraine or probable migraine
Inability to provide informed consent
Not willing to maintain a daily diary
Current participation in another clinical trial
