A Study of the Best Position for the Passive Driver (Vibration Transmitter) in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE)

About this study

The purpose of this study is to test multiple positions of the passive driver (vibration transmitter) on the patient in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) to find the best position for scanner imaging.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age ≥ 18 years
  • No history of angina
  • No known coronary artery disease
  • No history of heart failure
  • No history of hypertension or hypertensive medications
  • No known valvular or congenital heart disease
  • No diabetes
  • Measured systolic blood pressure < 140 mm Hg
  • Measured diastolic blood pressure < 90 mm Hg

 

Exclusion Criteria

  • Contraindications to MRI scanning including
    • Internal defibrillators or pacemakers
    • Cerebral aneurysm clips
    • Severe claustrophobia
  • Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy 
    • Though there is no documented risk to the fetus of MRI scanning, MRI scanning in pregnancy is considered a relative contraindication
