A Study to Form a Database of Children with Kidney Stone Disease

About this study

The purpose of this study is to establish a database to collect and analyze information on metabolic and environmental risk factors for kidney stone formation in children.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Children age 0-17
  • With at least one newly-diagnosed kidney stone,either
    • Confirmed with standard, accepted imaging techniques (CT scan and/or ultrasound) 
    • Or that was collected and confirmed to be a kidney stone by laboratory analysis

 

Exclusion Criteria 

  • Children with previously-diagnosed conditions known to pre-dispose to nephrolithiasis (Lesch-Nyhan, Cystinuria, Renal tubular acidosis, etc.)
