A Study Relating Voice Characteristics and Cardiovascular Disease / Pulmonary Hypertension

About this study

The purpose of this study is to see if a new voice signal recording software program, can find a connection between abnormal voice signals and the presence and severity of cardiovascula disease / Pulmonary Hypertenison.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • All individuals who present for a routine elective, clinically indicated, diagnostic echocardiogram at the echocardiography laboratory at Mayo Clinic

Exclusions

  • Known history of voice disorder either primary or secondary to neuromuscular or other pathology
  • Patients under the age of 18 years
  • Pregnancy
