Clinical Services

Rehabilitation medicine helps restore movement and function to people affected by disease or injury by applying basic science and clinical research to improve medical, musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.

Although the Rehabilitation Medicine Research Center itself doesn't provide patient care, researchers work closely with Mayo Clinic's physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other rehabilitation specialists to translate findings into better patient care.

Rehabilitation specialists provide adult inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care at all three Mayo Clinic campuses in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota. Children are treated in Minnesota.

Medical conditions treated in the affiliated Mayo Clinic Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation span a wide spectrum, including amputations, bladder and bowel disorders, brain injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, nervous system disorders, stroke, work injuries, wound care, and much more.
