Participant Appreciation Event
Each year, the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging team invites study participants to an annual appreciation event. The most recent event took place on Oct. 14, 2023, at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Almost 1,000 research participants and their guests attended.
At the event, Ronald C. Petersen, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging, provided an overview of the study. Dr. Petersen also gave information about new and emerging treatments in Alzheimer's disease. He shared details about the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging's partnership with the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. And he discussed the disclosure of testing results to participants.
Dr. Petersen was joined by Edward T. Creagan, M.D., an emeritus professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Dr. Creagan provided a witty and engaging presentation on the ABCs of aging: adaption, brain health and community.
