Clinical Services

Although the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center itself doesn't provide patient care, Mayo Clinic offers a wide range of clinical services for patients with Alzheimer's disease and other aging and dementia conditions.

Healthcare professionals at Mayo Clinic have extensive experience evaluating people who have Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses. Mayo Clinic has pioneered new models of care for people with mild cognitive impairment, a condition that often leads to Alzheimer's disease.

Using a team approach, doctors from many disciplines, including neurology, neuroscience, psychology and psychiatry, collaborate to provide the best Alzheimer's care.

Mayo Clinic doctors and researchers also conduct research to better understand the genetics and progression of Alzheimer's disease and to develop new treatments.

At Mayo Clinic's campuses in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota, doctors trained in neurology and psychiatry and psychology, as well as in other specialties, treat people who have Alzheimer's disease and related conditions.

In Arizona, Mayo Clinic is part of the Arizona Alzheimer's Consortium, a statewide research collaboration that studies ways to detect, treat and prevent Alzheimer's disease.

In Florida, the integrated staff in the Memory Disorder Clinic conducts research and cares for people who have Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. The Department of Neuroscience actively conducts research in Alzheimer's disease and related conditions.

In Minnesota, the Alzheimer's Disease Treatment Clinic helps people with early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease decide whether they might benefit from new medicines to slow down the condition. And physicians, scientists and researchers share their expertise to support the care for people who have Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. This includes healthcare professionals in the Division of Behavioral Neurology and the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
