SUMMARY

The research interests of Fernando G. Cosio, M.D., center on the role of humoral mechanisms in renal disease, particularly glomerulonephritis. Specifically, Dr. Cosio looks at complement activation, antibody formation and immune complex-mediated diseases. He is also involved with patient-oriented research in glomerulonephritis and renal transplantation, and has an additional interest in transplant nephrology, particularly investigations of pathogenic mechanisms that affect long-term kidney allograft function.
