  • Early Naturalistic Hands-on Autism Caregiver Training (ENHAnCE) Study (ENHANCE) Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to pilot test the ENHANCE intervention to evaluate methodology, feasibility based on caregiver input, and preliminary caregiver satisfaction. The primary outcomes will be feedback from parents, participant completion/atrition rates, the interventionist study log, and interventionist/caregiver/fidelity. Second, we aim to examine preliminary impact of the naturalistic intervention on child social communication and repetitive behavior in order to estimate clinically meaningful change for future research studies. 

  • Pain expression and proxy ratings in children with developmental delays. Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to identify factors associated with behavioral expression of pain among young children with IDD, and to identify the parent and child factors associated with parental pain judgments.

    The overall goal of this study is to help discover and better understand why some children with intellectual  and developmental disabilities self-injure.

  • Sensory Mechanisms and Self-Injury Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to discover and to understand why some children with intellectual and developmental delays injure themselves. The project is made to try to get at both the behavior and the biology of things related to stress and pain or the senses that some of these children may experience.
