  • Quantification and distribution of Sulfated Glycosaminoglycan (sGAG) Adsorption on Retrieved TMJ Fossa Eminence Implants Rochester, Minn.

The purpose of this study is to use Raman spectroscopy for the analysis of implants to detect sGAGs. Also, to remove and quantify unattached sulfated glycosaminoglycans on implant surfaces using specific biochemical assay, to assess the surface morphology of retrieval implants using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and to conduct histological analysis of the surrounding tissue using safranin O/fast green staining to detect any depletion or damage to the tissue matrix.
