Clinical trials Below are current clinical trials.105 studies in Hematology (open studies only). Filter this list of studies by location, status and more. Clinical and Epidemiological Studies in Pediatric Malignancies Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to establish a bank of tissue, stool, and blood from pediatric participants newly diagnosed with a malignancy for future studies. Clinical and Molecular Characteristics of Histiocytic Disorders Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess the presence of various molecular markers in histiocytic disorders. In addition to this, to review clinical records of the patients with these disorders to assess the role of the molecular markers in patient outcomes. Inotuzumab Ozogamicin and Frontline Chemotherapy in Treating Young Adults With Newly Diagnosed B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Rochester, Minn. This partially randomized phase III trial studies the side effects of inotuzumab ozogamicin and how well it works when given with frontline chemotherapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Monoclonal antibodies, such as inotuzumab ozogamicin, may block cancer growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving inotuzumab ozogamicin with chemotherapy may work better in treating young adults with B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. A Multicenter Access and Distribution Protocol for Unlicensed Cryopreserved Cord Blood Units (CBUs) Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This study is an access and distribution protocol for unlicensed cryopreserved cord blood units (CBUs) in pediatric and adult patients with hematologic malignancies and other indications. A Study to Assess Adverse Events of Intravenously (IV) Infused ABBV-383 in Adult Participants With Relapsed or Refractory Multiple Myeloma Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to determine adverse events and change in disease symptoms of ABBV-383 in adult participants with relapsed/refractory (R/R) MM. ABBV-383 is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of R/R Multiple Myeloma (MM). This study includes 2 parts; step-up dose optimization (Part 1) and dose expansion (Part 2). In Part 1, different level of step-up doses are tested followed by the target dose of ABBV-383. In Part 2, the step-up dose identified in Part 1 will be used followed by the target dose of ABBV-383. Cholecalciferol in Improving Survival in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Cancer With Vitamin D Insufficiency Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This partially randomized clinical trial studies cholecalciferol in improving survival in patients with newly diagnosed cancer with vitamin D insufficiency. Vitamin D replacement may improve tumor response and survival and delay time to treatment in patients with cancer who are vitamin D insufficient. Methylation and Chromatin Abnormalities in Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Chronic Myelomonocytic leukemia. Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess tumor cells from blood and bone marrow from patients with myeloid neoplasms for epigenetic dysregulation and abnormalities of chromatin and for immune activation and exhaustion. A Study of Using Mesenchymal Stem Cells Developed from the Patients Own Fat Tissue for Reducing Hemodialysis Arteriovenous Fistula Failure Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine the success of mesenchymal stem cells, developed from the patient's own fat tissue, for reducing hemodialysis arteriovenous fistula failure when applied during the time of surgical creation. Avelumab In Combination Regimens That Include An Immune Agonist, Epigenetic Modulator, CD20 Antagonist and/or Conventional Chemotherapy in Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (R/R DLBCL) Rochester, Minn. Study B9991011 is a multi-center, international, randomized, open label, 2 component (Phase 1b followed by Phase 3), parallel-arm study of avelumab in combination with various agents for the treatment of Relapsed/Refractory (R/R) Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL). Assessing Glutamine Metabolism in MGUS and Myeloma Rochester, Minn. The utilization of glutamine by the bone marrow plasma cells in MGUS and MM will be compared between each other after infusion of 13-carbon labelled glutamine. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
