My name is Lu Yang. I am a transplant hepatologist at transplant department. And a transplant hepatologist is a physician who takes care of patients with liver disease. The best part of my job, I believe is for
transplant patients, when they come to Mayo Clinic, they're very sick and we work with them as a team. And after transplant most patients go back to their normal daily life. I developed a passion for chronic liver
disease and then wanted to become a physician since my childhood. I came from China, there's a lot of patients that suffer from chronic hepatitis B. At the time, there is no effective treatment for that condition. And that's why I went to medical school and eventually I finished my training and end up here at Mayo Clinic, Florida. I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to work at transplant department. Here we truly believe patient needs come first.
