My name is Hani Wadei, I'm a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm one of the transplant nephrologist here. What I do here at Mayo is taking care of mainly kidney transplant patients before and after their kidney transplantation. What's unique about our practice, in addition to volumes and numbers, is a collegiality we have with the transplant surgeons with other doctors involved in the transplant centers. So we have a transplant center with the other transplant hepatologist, nephrologists, cardiologist, pulmonologist and surgeons are all sitting in the same place. And we all enjoy this great collegiality that you can walk into someone's office and asked him about something related to your patient and would immediately give you an answer. Things that I love the most about the work I do is when I go and walk into a
patient's room and tell them Mr. or Mrs. so and so you would not need dialysis anymore, at least in the near future. This is ultimate happiness.
