I'm Dr. Katherine Oshel, I'm a transplant nephrologist at Mayo Clinic, Florida in Jacksonville. And I'm part of our transplant team. I chose a career in medicine really just because I wanted to connect with
people and help them. It's really important to me to sit down and hear what a patient needs and the struggle that they've come through getting to this point and how I can help them get to the next
phase of their care without feeling like a struggle and feeling like they're part of a supportive group and family. And really Mayo Clinic provides that atmospheric. I love everything about what I do, especially here
at Mayo Clinic. It's so easy knowing that you have the supportive team, but I really love being successful with patients and helping them through a really difficult time. They sometimes come to us really overwhelmed and not knowing what to expect with transplant. And really all the patient has to focus on is recovering and healing and living a successful life without requiring dialysis.
