3D Surface Scanning

About this study

The purpose of this study is to examine the potential for using a 3D scan of a patient’s treatment surface as a surrogate for a conventional CT simulation in electron radiation therapy.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adult, ≥ 18 years of age.
  • Capable of consent.
  • Receiving electron therapy and a planning CT scan, consent to two 3D surface scans of treatment area.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Pediatric patients, < 17 years of age.
  • Mentally incapable of study consent.
  • Receiving electron radiation for a breast cancer boost.
  • Receiving electrons for total skin electron therapy.
  • Patients with epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
