Ultrasound Evaluation of Synovitis

About this study

The purpose of this pilot study is to analyze the effectiveness of a new ultrasound microvessel imaging technology for evaluation of synovitis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients with suspected or confirmed rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Patients scheduled to have clinically indicated contrast enhanced MRI for evaluation of arthritis.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Vulnerable subjects such as prisoners.
  • Adults lacking capacity to consent.
  • Patients who cannot keep the hand still for ultrasound scans (e.g., patients with hand tremor).
