A Study to Create a Standard Set of Outcomes in from Which to Gauge Outcomes in Patients with Prosthetic Joint Infections

About this study

The aim of this study is to create a standard set of outcome parameters which can be adopted nationwide from which to gauge outcomes in Prosthetic Joint Infections (PJI).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  1. Age ≥ 18
  2. Treatment for hip or knee prosthetic joint infection within the past 3 months or within the past 12-24 months
  3. No more than 1-2 treatment courses for prosthetic joint infection
  4. Have consented to participate in research at Mayo Clinic

Exclusion Criteria:

  1. Age <18
  2. 3 or more total treatment courses for prosthetic joint infection including current treatment if patient is currently receiving therapy
  3. Prisoners
