Effect of Agent Orange Exposure on Endocrine Tumor Aggressiveness

Overview

About this study

The intent is to collect relevant clinical data on patients exposed to Agent Orange plus assessment of the tissue for genetic mutations known to be associated with growth of thyroid cancer and pituitary tumors and report our findings as a descriptive case series.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Detailed Description:  No involvement of subjects will be needed other than granting permission for use of tissue from their surgical specimen. The thyroid tissue is collected under the standing MCF Thyroid Cancer Biorepository protocol (08-000922). Informed consent will be obtained for the two pituitary specimens under this present protocol.

Population:  Retrospective case series of patients who recently presented to the Mayo Clinic.
